Workshop FAQ

Are your workshops only open to HNL Tool Library Members? Nope. Our workshops are open to the public, however, HNL Tool Library Members obtain a sweet 20% Discount!

Will I be using tools during a workshop? You bet! Our workshops are a hands-on experience designed to empower you. Expect to learn and practice a lot, and get your hands dirty! 

I'd like to join one of your workshops, but I'm a beginner and not sure where to start. Most of our classes are designed keeping absolute beginners in mind. If you don't have much experience with tools, look for a spot in our Demystifying Power Tools class. Alternatively, our EZ Woodworking workshops have been a great place for many people to get familiar with woodworking, especially our popular Succulent Planter, and From Pallet to Coasters.

How old do you have to be to attend workshops? Attendees must be at least 14 years of age to attend our workshops. For attendees  younger than 18, a parent or guardian must sign a waiver at check-in, or may print a copy at home to be brought in by the attendee.

I signed up for a workshop! What should I bring? Awesome! The only thing that we strictly require is for you to wear closed-toe shoes. We also recommend that you wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. HNL Tool Library will provide you with safety equipment, but feel free to bring your own!

What's your cancelation policy? You may cancel your booking 7 days prior to the workshop and obtain a refund; a $10 cancellation fee will be charged. No refund to be issued without a 7 days minimum cancellation notice.

Can I schedule a private workshop for my organization or team? Most definitely! Our workshops are a great way to get your team out of the office to learn and create together. Our woodworking classes are sure to bring creativity and a sense of empowerment to your workspace. You can request a private workshop here. 

My team needs to learn or build something in particular. Can you provide custom workshops and training sessions? Yup! We have provided custom learning experience to many teams, and we'd love to help yours! Let us know what you need help with through our private workshop page.
